Walking the Spiritual Path: Embracing Change

The art of life lies in a constant readjustment to our surroundings. Kakuzo Okakura

Don’t let yesterday use up too much of today. Cherokee Proverb

Change is a constant companion as we walk our spiritual path. It can be change in ourselves or change in our relationships with others. It can also be change in the world around us. Life is not meant to be static. The energy of life is meant to be continuously shifting. This is the energy of creation!

Change is the law of life. Those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future. President John F. Kennedy

After covid-19 and the changes it has brought to every aspect of people’s lives, many people want “things go back to the way they were.” But that is not how the energy of life works. We are always free to choose in our lives: we can choose to feel unhappy and anxious because we don’t know what the future will bring.

This is the adage that our thinking creates our life. If thoughts about fear and uncertainty fill us, then this attracts similar energy and we will have more to be fearful and anxious about.

On the other hand, if we stand centered in our higher mind and soul’s energy, then we know that we will be fine. We may not know what each day will bring, but our higher mind is filled with universal wisdom. We, as the physical form, may not know the details. But the guidance system of our higher mind and soul does know, and is already preparing our life. Our higher mind moves us to where we need to be. She/he makes the changes in our life and career that support us as change unfolds.

Our only job is to be aware of our higher mind’s guidance and take the action we are shown.

Affirmation: Today I am aware of my higher mind’s guidance and take the steps I am shown. I know I am always safe and provided for when I follow the path my soul has created for me.
