Walking the Spiritual Path May 9

The most courageous decision you’ll ever make is to finally let go of what is hurting your heart and soul. Brigitte Nicole

By letting go, it all gets done. Lao Tzu

Letting go of what doesn’t work is an inevitable lesson on our spiritual path. We come to a point where we simply cannot continue as we were. We finally reach the awareness that what we are holding onto isn’t helping us. It is not taking us where we want to be. In fact, it’s just the opposite. When we reach this point, we have the realization that serious internal house cleaning is needed. The beliefs, the ideas, the things we know and what we think we know — eventually the time will come when we need to drag them all out of the closets of our mind and take a good hard look at them.

When we reach this stage, we realize that the “truths” we have been living by are not true at all. These are the ideas, beliefs, patterns and habits that we have been holding onto, believing someday these ideas were going to pay off and everything in our life would finally work.

We begin by accepting that we can’t get there from here. We can’t hold onto these limiting beliefs and self sabotaging patterns and become who we truly are. The next step is to face each belief, and make the conscious choice that it is not ours. It is not our truth and we no longer need to hold onto it. It may seem like a scary process, but it actually is the most liberating thing we’ll ever do. Once this is behind us, we become our true self. We step into the magnificent spiritual being we were born to be, the one the world is waiting for.

Affirmation: Today I step into the truth of who I am.
