Walking the Spiritual Path April 25

Honesty is often very hard. The truth is often painful. But the freedom it can bring is worth the trying. Fred Rogers

When we really commit to walking our spiritual path, we will find things in our lives that we need to be honest about. These are the same things we have often told ourselves were just fine. For years we gave ourselves reassurance that this issue was handled. But the beauty of walking the spiritual path is that we reach a point where the empty self promises just don’t work anymore. If we want to make progress, we have to admit there is room for improvement. What we told ourselves is fine actually is not.

Pulling back the curtain is not as painful as we feared it would be. The ego and conscious mind are the one that is afraid of being exposed. But in our heart, we know facing the truth of the situation is the best thing for us. It is what we have to do if we are going to keep moving forward.

This is when we need to turn to our higher mind and soul. The ego and conscious mind created this problem: they certainly will not help us get out of the mess they created. Only our higher mind and soul can show us, one step at a time, how to get our life on track.

Affirmation: Today I turn to my higher mind and soul, knowing my higher self already has the solution to any problem.
