Walking the Spiritual Path Day 15

Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it.  Eckhart Tolle

Sometimes just a small change in how I look at things makes a huge difference.  To look at each moment and each thought going through my head with the attitude that I chose it changes the energy around it.  My thoughts lose their ability to get a response.  Instead, I can calmly look at them and decide what, if anything, I need to do about it.  Often, there is nothing for me to do but acknowledge that they aren’t mine.  I simply need the awareness that I am being poked by energy outside myself.  This energy wants me to leave the present moment — and leave my higher mind and soul.  This nasty energy feeds off negativity, sadness, fear, doubt, and anger.   It gets fed when I don’t pay attention to my mental and emotional wanderings.  Wandering away from my soul is never harmless.

The idea that I choose every thought and every moment creates a quiet space.  In that quiet lives choice and awareness.  In that choice and awareness lives control.  This takes everything off autopilot.  I become aware and I deliberately choose.

Having control over my mental and emotional response to every moment is very powerful.  In this place of power, it is easy to slow down, to stop and get myself centered again in my higher mind’s energy.  I am no longer running off blindly to mentally follow whatever is being pushed at me.  That nasty energy is counting on me to be gullible and easily manipulated.  When I am awake and in control, I stay right where I need to be.

Affirmation:  Today I chose every moment.  I chose to stay with my higher mind and soul.
