Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. Barack Obama
Committing daily to my spiritual work is making the truth of my life and my choices clearer. It is all too easy to get caught up in the business of the moment. It’s the choice of making the unimportant urgent. The choice to let the truly meaningful slide away. This time focussing on my spiritual path is making clear to me what choices I am actually making, and showing the need to change.
Releasing and destroying old negative beliefs, patterns and habits have opened up the mental and emotional space to make new choices. New choices result in powerful change. Delay and excuses are choices. My old programming had a lot of ways of getting me to stop. The programming itself was not that powerful. It could not stop me. I stopped me by listening to it. It was the choices I was making, without even realizing what I was doing.
Change comes into my life when I put enough distance between me and the old patterns that I can choose my responses. I can choose my thoughts. I can choose my actions. In so doing, I can change my life. To wait for someone else or something else before changing is folly. I can choose an excuse or I can choose to take action. I can choose to mentally tell myself that my small action is meaningless, or I can encourage myself. I have started taking small actions in several different areas of my life. The old excuses, that these small actions won’t amount to anything, have been silenced.
Affirmation: Now I accept that I am responsible for changing my life through the choices I make. I choose the life that belongs to my Higher Mind and Soul.
